The Tadpole is a high-performance vehicle in Subnautica 2 designed for deep-sea exploration. To unlock it, you must first collect three Tadpole blueprint fragments scattered across the ocean floor. Below are the safest and most efficient locations to find each fragment.

How to Unlock the Tadpole in Subnautica 2

To obtain the Tadpole, you need to locate and scan three blueprint fragments. Each fragment is hidden in a different area, but the following spots are chosen for their safety and accessibility. Be prepared with a larger oxygen tank, as some locations are deep and require careful navigation.

First Blueprint Fragment Location

Head toward 190 degrees on the compass, approximately 145 meters from your lifepod at a depth of 90 meters. The first sign of the fragment is a coral reef with debris to its left.

"Your first indication will be the coral reef, which has debris to its left."

Dive past the reef to find a crash site. Scan the fragment, then return to the surface to refill your oxygen.

Second Blueprint Fragment Location

Return to the same spot and turn right. Follow the path until it ends, then turn right again. You will find a hatch with an interior room. Inside, you can refill your oxygen and locate the second fragment on a shelf against the wall.

Third Blueprint Fragment Location

Exit the room and proceed straight ahead. You will encounter a massive coral reef, where the final fragment is located at its base. Exercise caution, as this area is deep and oxygen depletion is a risk.

Important Tips for Collecting Fragments

  • Always have a backup plan to reach the surface quickly if oxygen runs low.
  • Save your game immediately after collecting the third fragment to avoid losing progress.
  • Be mindful of environmental hazards and predators in the area.
