New Orleans Saints veteran defensive end Cam Jordan previously stated that a return for a 16th season would be "phenomenal," but negotiations have stalled. With no clear resolution in sight, speculation has emerged about Jordan potentially reuniting with former coaches elsewhere.
One such coach is Dennis Allen, who served as the Saints' defensive coordinator and later head coach for a decade before being fired midway through the 2024 season. Allen now oversees the defense for the Chicago Bears, whose defensive end group has remained unchanged this offseason.
During a media session reported by Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, Allen addressed whether the Bears had explored adding Jordan:
"I don’t know that there’s been a ton of discussion about [signing him]. We feel pretty good about where we’re at and what we have. Yet you never know what opportunities might present themselves down the road."
The Bears ranked 22nd in the NFL with 35 sacks in 2024. Allen’s comments suggest Jordan is unlikely to play a role in improving that total for the 2026 season, as Chicago appears content with its current defensive personnel.
