HBO’s critically acclaimed anthology series The White Lotus has finalized its cast for Season 4 with the additions of Ben Kingsley, Max Minghella, and Pekka Strang.

The three actors will join the ensemble of guests and employees at the luxury resort setting that the HBO drama series follows over the course of a week during the Cannes Film Festival.

They join previously announced Season 4 cast members, including:

  • Vincent Cassel

  • Caleb Jonte Edwards
  • Dylan Ennis
  • Corentin Fila
  • Ari Graynor
  • Marissa Long

  • AJ Michalka
  • Kumail Nanjiani
  • Nadia Tereszkiewicz

Additional cast members include:

  • Chloe Bennet
  • Sandra Bernhard
  • Heather Graham
  • Max Greenfield
  • Frida Gustavsson
  • Charlie Hall
  • Jarrad Paul
  • Rosie Perez
  • Ben Schnetzer
  • Laura Smet

Production for Season 4 began in April, with filming taking place in Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, and Paris.

Notably, Helena Bonham Carter, originally cast for Season 4, has been recast. Laura Dern, who previously worked with series creator Mike White on Enlightened, will take over the role. The character is being rewritten specifically for Dern.

“With filming just underway on season four of ‘The White Lotus,’ it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set. The role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten and will be recast in the coming weeks,” an HBO spokesperson told TheWrap.

“HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won’t get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon.”

Kingsley is represented by CAA, Independent Talent Group, Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binger Christopher (Rick Genow), and Ingenuity Group. Minghella is represented by CAA and Anonymous Content, while Strang is represented by Actors in Scandinavia and Artist International Group.
