The Denver Broncos have secured safety Devon Key for the 2025 season after he officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender on Thursday. The one-year deal guarantees Key a salary of $1.075 million.
Key joins three other Broncos players who have already signed their exclusive rights tenders this offseason: running back Tyler Badie, defensive lineman Jordan Jackson, and outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman.
Key’s Role and Accomplishments with the Broncos
Key, who joined the Broncos in 2022, has established himself as a core special teams player. His performance in 2025 earned him first-team All-Pro honors for his contributions on special teams. Last season, Key played in 17 games, logging 73 defensive snaps and 388 special teams snaps. His special teams play accounted for 82 percent of the team’s total special teams snaps, and he recorded 28 tackles.
Family Connection: Dane Key Joins Broncos as Undrafted Free Agent
Adding to the family ties, Dane Key, Devon Key’s brother, is set to join the Broncos as an undrafted free agent. Dane Key’s potential addition further strengthens the Broncos’ roster ahead of the 2025 season.
