The Kansas City Chiefs have selected defensive tackle Peter Woods with the No. 29 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Woods played college football at Clemson, appearing in 35 games with 24 starts over his career. In 2025, he was named a first-team All-ACC honoree, finishing the season with:
- 30 total tackles
- 3.5 tackles for loss
- 2 sacks
- 2 passes defensed
Woods also demonstrated offensive versatility, rushing for 2 touchdowns during his collegiate career.
His defensive contributions included:
- 14.5 tackles for loss

This selection marks the Chiefs’ second first-round pick. Earlier in the draft, Kansas City traded up to select cornerback Mansoor Delane from LSU. The Chiefs acquired the No. 29 overall pick from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for cornerback Trent McDuffie.
The additions of Woods and Delane further strengthen the Chiefs’ defensive roster.
