The Denver Broncos have announced a five-year contract extension for General Manager George Paton, keeping him with the team through the 2030 season. The agreement underscores the organization’s confidence in his leadership and strategic vision.

“We are pleased to announce a new five-year contract for George Paton that reflects our confidence in his leadership, vision and the overall direction of our team,” said CEO Greg Penner in a team-issued release.

Paton has served as the Broncos’ GM for five seasons and will now continue in the role for five more. His tenure has been marked by a strong commitment to building a competitive roster and fostering a collaborative partnership with head coach Sean Payton.

Before joining the Broncos, Paton spent 14 years with the Minnesota Vikings, where he declined multiple opportunities to remain with the organization. His arrival in Denver predated the Walton-Penner ownership group’s purchase of the team and Payton’s hiring.

The Broncos have made significant progress under Paton and Payton’s leadership. The team has reached the playoffs in two consecutive seasons and secured the top seed in the AFC in 2025.

Despite early setbacks, including the ill-advised trade for quarterback Russell Wilson and his subsequent market-level contract, the Broncos have since built an elite roster capable of contending for championships.
