How to Unlock a Horse in Palia’s Royal Highlands Update

The Royal Highlands update in Palia expands the game’s map, but players can save time and energy by obtaining a horse. Best of all, the mount is available to everyone at no cost. However, a few tasks must be completed before you can claim your stallion.

Step 1: Reach the Royal Highlands Region

New players can still access this area, though it may include minor spoilers for the main campaign.

Step 2: Locate Hassian and Free the Trapped Horse

Find the NPC Hassian, who will be accompanied by a horse trapped in amber. To free the horse, use your pickaxe. This action is only possible after starting the Before the Dawn quest.

Step 3: Gather Dawnspur Lilies to Feed the Horse

The Dawnspur Lilies are located in nearby areas and are easy to spot. Collect three flowers and return to the horse. Hassian will then ask you to ride the newly freed mount. After a brief interaction, he will leave the camp, and the horse will become yours.
