In Subnautica 2, broken equipment becomes more common as you progress, but many of these tools can be repaired and reused. The Repair Tool is essential for fixing damaged gear, and unlocking its blueprint requires scanning three broken repair tools scattered across the ocean floor.
How to Get the Repair Tool in Subnautica 2
To obtain the Repair Tool, you must scan three broken repair tools using your scanner. Each scan advances your blueprint progress, and once all three are scanned, the crafting recipe unlocks in your Fabricator.
Repair Tool Blueprint Fragment Locations
Location #1: Chap’s Blackbox Cave
Your first broken repair tool is found during the main storyline. NOA directs you to Chap’s blackbox, located 220 meters south of the Lifepod. Inside a hidden cave, you’ll discover a table with a broken repair tool to scan.
Location #2: Ruined Structure Southeast of Lifepod
The second broken repair tool is 250 meters southeast of the Lifepod. Explore a large ruined structure underwater, then enter to find the repair tool resting on a set of benches.
Location #3: Deep Ruined Building Northeast of Lifepod
The final broken repair tool is in a ruined building 350 meters northeast of the Lifepod. Swim below the structure, enter through an opening at the base, and turn toward two closed doorways. The repair tool lies on the floor, ready for scanning. Note: This location is deep underwater, so upgrade your air tank or bring extra air bladders to avoid running out of oxygen.
Repair Tool Crafting Recipe in Subnautica 2
Once all three fragments are scanned, the Repair Tool recipe unlocks in your Fabricator. You’ll need the following materials:
- Titanium Ingot (1)
- Wiring Kit (1)
- Basic Battery (1)
- Sulfur (1)
These materials can be challenging to obtain early in the game:
- Titanium Ingot: Requires a Processor to craft.
- Wiring Kit: Crafted in the Fabricator using silver and copper wire.
- Basic Battery: Found in storage crates or crafted with copper ore and Acidic Raion Pouches.
- Sulfur: Spawns exclusively in the high-temperature volcanic biome east of the Lifepod. Accessing it requires the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, found in the Bloom-infested Angel Comb west of the Lifepod.
