The Miami Dolphins have bolstered their defensive line by claiming defensive tackle James Ester off waivers, according to the league's daily transaction wire.
Ester, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, has spent the last two seasons on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad. He was waived by the club earlier this week.
This move brings a player familiar with the Dolphins' new leadership into the fold. Both General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Head Coach Jeff Hafley previously worked with the Packers, providing them with inside knowledge about Ester’s abilities and fit within the organization.
Despite this acquisition, Ester has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
