The New England Patriots have bolstered their defensive roster by agreeing to terms with undrafted free agent (UDFA) edge rusher Xavier Holmes, as announced by his agency, Exclusive Sports Group.
Holmes initially caught the Patriots’ attention during a tryout at the team’s rookie minicamp. His performance earned him a roster spot following a productive 2025 season at James Madison University.
During his lone season with the Dukes, Holmes delivered strong defensive numbers, including:
- 7.5 tackles for loss
- 6.0 sacks
- 1 interception
Holmes’ collegiate career also included four seasons at the University of Maine, where he developed into a key defensive contributor before transferring.
