Pittsburgh may have been the destination for Aaron Rodgers over the weekend, but a meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers never materialized. A report from 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh late last week suggested Rodgers would visit the team’s facility and was expected to finalize a deal before the weekend concluded. However, subsequent updates cast doubt on both the timing of a potential signing and whether the Steelers were aware of Rodgers’ presence in the city.
By Saturday, it became clear that no meeting had taken place between Rodgers and the Steelers. On Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed on The Pat McAfee Show that the weekend passed without any interaction between the quarterback and the organization.
The Steelers are set to begin the final phase of their offseason program next Monday, with the first of 10 scheduled team activities. Whether Rodgers will participate in any of these workouts remains as uncertain as it was after his inaugural season in Pittsburgh ended with a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans.
