Two members of the iconic Spice Girls, Melanie Chisholm (Mel C) and Melanie Brown (Mel B), reunited in Leeds over the weekend to perform the group’s 1997 hit single “Spice Up Your Life.”

A video of the performance, shared by Chisholm on Instagram, has since gone viral, reigniting fan hopes for a full Spice Girls reunion.

“We love y’all that was Hot Hot Hot!! It’s giving tour, outfits, vocals, dance all of the above! You nailed it.”

Another fan wrote in Chisholm’s Instagram comments:

“Girls, we’d love to see you all together again, creating another great song. I know it’s easy to keep asking, but that’s not the intention of your supporting community. We just want to celebrate you, while celebrating our own lives with you – through everything you, THE Spice Girls, have given and taught us over the years… and keep on passing your message along. We love you. We sincerely do. Not with obsession, but with deeeeep gratitude.”

Spice Girls Reunion Timeline: Past Tours and Absences

The Spice Girls last toured as a five-member group in 2008. Four members—Chisholm, Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell—last performed together in 2019. Victoria Beckham, however, did not join the 2019 tour but reunited with the group for the 2012 London Olympics.

2024 Reunion Hopes and Past Cancellations

In March 2024, reports surfaced that a planned 30th-anniversary tour had been cancelled. At the time, Chisholm addressed the rumors during an interview with The Smallzy Show on KIIS Radio:

“No, there is no reunion. We are communicating all the time. We want to do something – who knows when. But I still feel very optimistic and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.”

“Spice Up Your Life”: A 1997 Chart-Topper

“Spice Up Your Life” was released as the lead single from the Spice Girls’ second studio album, Spiceworld, in October 1997. The song became one of the group’s most recognizable hits, topping charts worldwide.
