The NFL has officially announced its first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game, setting the stage for a historic matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams.
Scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, the game will air exclusively on Netflix, marking the streaming platform’s first live NFL broadcast.
The Thanksgiving Eve contest is part of a broader slate of holiday games, including:
- Three games on Thanksgiving Day
- At least one game on Black Friday
This announcement follows the reveal of the Rams’ Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, which will also stream on Netflix. The Packers’ game is the first standalone matchup for Green Bay to be announced ahead of the full NFL schedule release.
Historically, the Packers have participated in multiple standalone games during the season. The league’s expansion into prime-time holiday matchups reflects its growing emphasis on global audiences and streaming partnerships.
