Most modern Kindle devices with black-and-white E Ink screens already offer a system-wide dark mode, displaying white text against a black background across the entire user interface. Now, Amazon has announced that the same feature is coming to Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft devices, which use color E Ink screens.
Previously, these devices could only invert the pages of ebooks. The new software update will introduce a system-wide dark mode, covering every section of the user interface. Amazon states that the update "will be rolling out to readers worldwide" in the coming weeks and will be available for download through its website.
