Amazon is integrating its new AI-powered shopping assistant, Alexa for Shopping, directly into Amazon.com starting today. Powered by Alexa Plus, the assistant will now respond to typed queries on the platform, enhancing the shopping experience with conversational AI.
Previously, users searching for products like "toilet paper" would receive a standard list of brands. Now, queries such as "What's a good skincare routine for men" or "When did I last order AA batteries" will trigger direct responses from Alexa for Shopping.
This new assistant replaces Amazon’s earlier AI shopping assistant, Rufus, and will be prominently featured in the Amazon app and on the website. The move underscores Amazon’s push to make its shopping experience more intuitive and conversational.
