The Minnesota Timberwolves faced a daunting challenge in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets. With two starters, including franchise star Anthony Edwards, sidelined by injuries in the first half, the Timberwolves trailed at the break. But Minnesota turned to Ayo Dosunmu, a midseason trade-deadline acquisition from the Chicago Bulls, to spark a comeback.
Dosunmu responded emphatically. The guard delivered a career-high 43 points on 13-of-17 shooting, including a flawless 5-of-5 from three-point range. He also made all 12 of his free throws, finishing with a perfect stat line that would be elite even for an All-Star, let alone a role player who had been underutilized in Chicago just months prior.
The Timberwolves dominated the Nuggets in the second half, securing a 112-96 victory to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The win put Denver on the brink of elimination and showcased Dosunmu’s breakout performance under pressure.
