BMW’s car and motorcycle divisions have rarely collaborated, but their latest project bridges the gap between two iconic models: the M2 Coupe and the S 1000 RR/M 1000 RR superbikes. The result is a pair of exclusive special editions, each limited to just 10 units and available only in South Africa.

M2 Coupe RR Edition: A Striking Debut

The M2 Coupe RR Edition is painted exclusively in Black Sapphire Metallic and features a host of performance and aesthetic upgrades. BMW has equipped it with M Performance suspension, lowering the ride height by 20 mm (0.8 inches). The model rides on Jet Black M Performance wheels, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

Exterior enhancements include a new front splitter with a red insert, a redesigned rear diffuser, a subtle roof spoiler, and a fixed rear wing with a red stripe. The interior is equally refined, featuring black and red upholstery, a sunroof, and a custom Akrapovic exhaust. Production is capped at 10 units, with five featuring a six-speed manual transmission and the remaining five equipped with an eight-speed automatic. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Matching Motorcycles: S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR Editions

BMW has also introduced limited-run versions of the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR, both painted in Black Storm Metallic with striking red accents. The S 1000 RR M2 Edition includes red accents on the front fairings and passenger seat cover, a tinted windshield, and red-trimmed wheels. The more extreme M 1000 RR features red accents on its standard carbon-fiber wheels and is fitted with a custom Akrapovic exhaust.

Like the M2 Coupe RR Edition, production of both motorcycle models is limited to 10 units each. The S 1000 RR M2 Edition is priced at 406,950 rand ($24,600), while the M 1000 RR commands a premium of 882,100 rand ($53,400).
