The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made two roster adjustments on Saturday, adding an undrafted rookie linebacker while waiving a running back with a non-football injury designation.

The Bucs signed Javin Wright, a linebacker from Nebraska, as an undrafted free agent. The move brings the team’s total of undrafted rookies to 15 for the current season.

In a corresponding transaction, Tampa Bay waived Michael Wiley, a first-year running back, with a non-football injury designation. Wiley originally joined the Bucs in October 2023, spending the second half of the season on the practice squad before signing a futures contract in January. He played college football at Arizona and entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Commanders in 2024.

Javin Wright’s College Career Highlights

Wright appeared in 46 games over six seasons at Nebraska, transitioning into the starting lineup as a senior. During his senior year, he led the team with 86 tackles and nine tackles for loss. He also contributed three sacks, one interception, and four passes defensed while playing in 12 games and starting 10. Over his collegiate career, Wright made 13 starts for the Cornhuskers and recorded 180 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and three interceptions.

"Wright’s experience and production at Nebraska make him a promising addition to our roster," said a Buccaneers spokesperson.
