The Buffalo Bills made their first selection of the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday, selecting Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker at No. 35 overall.

General Manager Brandon Beane did not make a pick on the first day of the draft but traded out of the first round to accumulate two additional selections. The Bills now hold nine picks in total, including the No. 35 overall choice used on Parker.

Parker’s College Career and NFL Potential

Parker, a standout defensive end for Clemson, recorded 21.5 sacks and 41.5 tackles for loss over three seasons with the Tigers. His production and athleticism make him a promising addition to Buffalo’s defensive front.

Defensive Overhaul Under New Scheme

Defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard is transitioning the Bills from a 4-3 base defense to a 3-4 alignment. The team plans to use most of its draft capital to reinforce the defense, addressing key needs at inside linebacker, nose tackle, and outside cornerback.
