The Buffalo Bills are set to make NFL history as they prepare to open their brand-new $2 billion Highmark Stadium in Week 2 of the 2024 season. The milestone game will take place on Thursday, September 17, when the Bills host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
This marks the first-ever game to be played at the state-of-the-art facility, which replaces the team’s longtime home, originally opened as Rich Stadium in 1973. The new stadium is located across Abbott Road from the old venue.
Prime Video will broadcast the historic matchup as part of its exclusive Thursday Night Football package, giving fans nationwide the opportunity to witness the Bills’ debut in their new home.
The Bills enter the game with momentum, having won their past four home openers since 2022, averaging an impressive 38.5 points per game in those contests.
