While BYD is widely recognized for its affordable all-electric vehicles, the company is also expanding into the high-performance hypercar segment through its Denza subbrand. At the Beijing Auto Show, BYD introduced the Denza Z, an all-electric hypercar boasting over 1,000 horsepower and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of under two seconds—rivaling competitors like the Rimac Nevera.

The Denza Z was first unveiled as a concept at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2025. A year later, BYD confirmed it would be available in three configurations: hard-top, convertible, and a dedicated track edition. While full specifications for the track version remain undisclosed, BYD has confirmed the use of its DiSus-M intelligent suspension system—comparable to Chevrolet Corvette’s Magnetic Ride Control—and the Flash Charging system.

The Denza Z will also incorporate advanced features from BYD’s YangWang U9, including autonomous driving and tank turning capabilities.

In a strategic move, BYD plans to launch the Denza Z in Europe first, with its inaugural public appearance scheduled for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK in July 2026. Pricing details have not yet been announced, but the hypercar is expected to be more accessible than BYD’s other high-end model, the YangWang U9, which is limited to just 30 units worldwide.
