Wide receiver Chase Claypool is making a push to return to the NFL, and the Green Bay Packers have included him on their roster for this weekend’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player.

Claypool’s last NFL action came in 2023, playing nine games with the Miami Dolphins. His 2024 season was cut short when he was placed on injured reserve by the Buffalo Bills during training camp, preventing him from playing a single game.

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Claypool quickly became a standout. In his first two seasons, he amassed 121 receptions for 1,733 yards and 11 touchdowns.

His production declined after a 2022 trade to the Chicago Bears, where he was sent in exchange for a second-round draft pick. Struggles continued, and he fell out of favor before being traded to the Dolphins ahead of the 2023 season.

The Packers’ rookie minicamp features eight other tryout players, including rookie running back Isaiah Jacobs. Isaiah is the younger brother of Green Bay’s starting running back, Josh Jacobs.
