The C64C Ultimate, a modern recreation of the legendary 1980s Commodore 64, has received a retro-inspired facelift. The update mirrors the design evolution of the original system, which first launched in 1982 and later evolved into the Commodore 64C in 1986.
Unlike its predecessor, the new C64C Ultimate introduces a slimmer case and refreshed color scheme while maintaining the same internal functionality. The key improvement is the addition of an HDMI port, making it easier to connect to modern high-definition displays without the need for adapters.
Developed using an FPGA chip, the C64C Ultimate faithfully replicates the original Commodore 64’s hardware and software, ensuring compatibility with classic games and software. However, despite its updated aesthetic, the new model does not include any additional features beyond the HDMI connectivity upgrade.
The C64C Ultimate is designed for enthusiasts who want the authentic retro experience with the convenience of modern display technology. The system remains a faithful reproduction of the original, preserving the nostalgic look and feel of the iconic 1980s computer.
