Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced Incognito Chat, a new AI feature designed to provide completely private conversations with end-to-end encryption.
In a statement, Zuckerberg emphasized that Incognito Chat is the first major AI product where no logs of conversations are stored on servers. Unlike traditional incognito modes on other AI chatbots, Meta’s version goes further by ensuring that no one—including Meta—can read your conversations.
"Other apps have introduced incognito-style modes, but they can still see the questions coming in and the answers going out. Incognito Chat with Meta AI is truly private, meaning no one - not even Meta - can read your conversations."
Key features of Incognito Chat include:
- No server logs: Conversations are not stored or saved in users' chat history.
- End-to-end encryption: Messages are protected from third-party access, including Meta itself.
- Incognito mode integration: Similar to private browsing, users can enable this mode for enhanced privacy.
This announcement comes shortly after Meta removed end-to-end encryption from Instagram DMs, a decision that sparked significant debate among privacy advocates.
Incognito Chat is now available as part of Meta’s AI suite, offering users a new level of privacy in AI-driven interactions.
