The Minnesota Vikings have announced a 57-player roster for their rookie minicamp this weekend, with veteran quarterback Cooper Rush participating on a tryout basis.
Of the 57 attendees, the team has extended invitations to 23 players to join weekend practices, including Rush. The 32-year-old quarterback brings extensive experience, having appeared in 42 regular-season games with 16 starts during his career. His record stands at 9-7.
Rush was released by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year after the team named Tyler Huntley as the primary backup to Lamar Jackson. Prior to his time with the Ravens, Rush spent seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, where he started eight games in 2024 and five in 2022.
The Vikings currently have four quarterbacks on their roster but are seeking additional depth for the rookie minicamp. Notably, Minnesota did not draft or sign any rookie quarterbacks as undrafted free agents.
Joining Rush on a tryout basis is Aidan Bouman, son of former NFL quarterback Todd Bouman, who played for the Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
