The Dallas Cowboys have made a roster move, signing offensive lineman DJ Winfield after he participated in the team’s rookie minicamp. In a corresponding move, the Cowboys have released offensive guard Sidney Fugar, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
The team currently has one open roster spot, which has been filled by Dayo Odeleye receiving an international exemption.
Fugar’s college career spanned three different schools. He began at Western Illinois, where he started as a redshirt freshman at left tackle. He later transferred to the University of South Carolina, where he started four games and appeared in 10 contests at both tackle positions.
His final college stop was at Baylor University, where he played 24 games over two seasons with 15 starts. Fugar ultimately earned the starting role at left tackle after being listed as a backup left guard.
