Defensive lineman Dean Lowry will not return to the Pittsburgh Steelers at this time, according to a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. A deal that was previously expected to be finalized last weekend is now not moving forward.
Lowry missed the whole of the 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL. Per Rapoport’s report, he has chosen to take additional time to rehabilitate and prepare himself for a return to game readiness. Notably, Lowry did not undergo a physical with the Steelers before making this decision.
During his time with the Steelers, Lowry recorded five tackles and one sack across 12 games in 2024. His NFL career also includes stints with the Minnesota Vikings in 2023, where he played in nine games, and a seven-season tenure with the Green Bay Packers, where he appeared in 111 games.
