DJI’s original Mic Mini changed that by combining the mic and transmitter into a 0.35-ounce device delivering professional-grade sound for under $100. Now, the company has released the Mic Mini 2 (around $100), a refined update to the original with a lower price point, vibrant new magnetic covers, and enhanced audio features.

The Mic Mini 2 is positioned as the best budget wireless mic for new buyers, but it may not justify an upgrade for existing Mic Mini users. For those seeking premium performance, DJI’s flagship Mic 3 remains the better choice if budget allows. However, potential US buyers should note that the Mic Mini 2 is currently unavailable in the country due to pending Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification.

Design and Features

The Mic Mini 2 is available in two configurations tailored to smartphone and camera users. The camera kit includes a receiver with a 3.5mm mic output for mirrorless cameras, while the mobile kit features a receiver with a USB-C port for smartphones. Both kits include:
