Cybersecurity experts uncovered critical security flaws in the European Commission’s newly launched age-verification app for online services within hours of its unveiling. One expert demonstrated that the app’s biometric verification could be bypassed in less than two minutes.
The poor security design not only allows users to evade biometric checks but also insecurely stores verification data directly on the device. Despite these glaring issues, officials maintain that the app is ready for deployment.
