George Pickens has officially signed the franchise tag with the Dallas Cowboys, ensuring he will remain with the team for the 2025 season. The one-year tender guarantees him $27.3 million for the upcoming campaign.

Earlier reports last Thursday indicated Pickens would sign the tag and participate in the Cowboys' offseason program. However, the team began their offseason activities on Monday without the star wide receiver, as he had not yet signed the tender. Pickens finalized the agreement on Wednesday.

The franchise tag also leaves open the possibility of a trade, though Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones made it clear that the team has “zero intention” of dealing Pickens. Additionally, Jones stated that the Cowboys will not negotiate a long-term contract with Pickens in 2026, as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2027.

Pickens, who turns 25 this year, had an outstanding first season in Dallas in 2025. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection after recording 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
