The New York Giants’ stance on trading defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux appears to be shifting—again. Less than 24 hours after reports claimed the team had no plans to trade him, Jordan Schultz of The Schultz Report now says the Giants are actively engaged in trade discussions involving Thibodeaux.
The New Orleans Saints are reportedly among the teams expressing strong interest in acquiring Thibodeaux, per Schultz.

Trade rumors intensified following the Giants’ selection of Arvell Reese with the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Reese, a linebacker from UCLA, adds depth to a defense that already features Brian Burns and 2025 first-rounder Abdul Carter at edge rusher.
Thibodeaux’s Injury History and Performance
Thibodeaux, now 25, has played only 10 games in the past season due to a shoulder injury—the third time in four NFL seasons he has missed time because of injuries. Despite his injury struggles, he has accumulated 23.5 sacks over his four-year career, including 11.5 sacks in 2023.
