Google Home has rolled out a new update designed to simplify troubleshooting for users with offline smart devices. The latest feature provides instant account-relinking prompts directly within the app’s device controller pages whenever a device goes offline.

These prompts immediately inform users if an expired partner link is the reason their smart home device has lost connectivity. This eliminates the need for extensive manual troubleshooting and speeds up the process of restoring functionality.

In addition to the new troubleshooting tool, Google has introduced Home Vitals, a program aimed at preventing connection issues before they lead to device downtime. According to Google, the Home Vitals website enables developers to:

  • Monitor the health of their device integrations;
  • Identify connection errors in real time;
  • Take proactive steps to resolve issues before they impact users.

The Home Vitals program is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and user experience of its smart home ecosystem.
