The Gran Turismo 7 monthly update cadence continues with the arrival of three highly anticipated new cars. Among them, the original Renault Twingo stands out as a cultural icon, even for those who aren’t car enthusiasts. Its distinctive "friend-shaped" design has made it a beloved vehicle since its debut.
The first-generation Twingo launched in 1993 and remained in production until 2012, including in Colombia. In Japan, it became one of the first Renault models sold at Nissan dealerships following Renault’s 1999 stake purchase in the Japanese automaker, a partnership that later faced challenges.
The Twingo arriving in Gran Turismo 7 is an early model, featuring an interior described as "silly" and "zany." The car has also made its mark in motorsport, including one-make racing series and an attempted entry into the Nürburgring 24 Hours, though recent organizational decisions have hindered that effort.
Also joining the lineup is the Porsche 964 911 Turbo S Leichtbau, a rare variant even among 964 models, surpassed in exclusivity only by the 911 Carrera RS. Rounding out the trio is the Yangwang U9 electric hypercar, which delivers 1,286 horsepower in its base configuration. The U9 Track Edition boasts an even more impressive 2,977 horsepower, though Polyphony Digital has opted to include the standard version in the update.
The April 1.69 patch also introduces a new Muscle Car Extra Menu and Power Pack Challenges. These quests offer rewards exclusively for players who purchased the Power Pack DLC in late 2023. The update is scheduled to go live overnight.
