The Green Bay Packers are parting ways with veteran kicker Brandon McManus, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The team made the decision on Friday.
Green Bay selected kicker Trey Smack from the University of Florida in the sixth round of last month’s NFL Draft, signaling a transition at the position.
McManus joined the Packers in 2024 and played two seasons with the club. Despite injuries limiting him to 14 games, he delivered a strong performance in 2025, converting 24-of-30 field goal attempts and 32-of-33 extra points. However, he missed two field goals and one extra point in the team’s playoff loss to the Chicago Bears.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky noted that Green Bay paid McManus a $1 million roster bonus in March. Prior to his time with the Packers, McManus spent nine seasons with the Denver Broncos and one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023.
Over his career, McManus has made 82.0% of his field goal attempts and 97.4% of his extra points, establishing himself as one of the NFL’s most reliable kickers.
