R.E.P.O. Cosmetics Update: A New Era of Semibot Customization
The R.E.P.O. Cosmetics Update revolutionizes semibot customization by introducing fully customizable uniforms that add personality and character to your painted metal units. No longer will players need to separate into color-coded lobbies to express individuality. Instead, cosmetics offer a new path to uniqueness, though their availability is limited and requires unlocking.
Where to Find Cosmetics in R.E.P.O.
Cosmetics function differently from weapons and items in R.E.P.O. Rather than spawning and claiming space in the Service Station, they are tied to Tax Tokens. These tokens are not found in the environment; instead, they are purchased inside the Service Station via a large pillar featuring a spinning cry-laugh emoji.
To obtain cosmetics:
- Gather Tax Tokens from boxes hidden in specific levels: Headman Manor, McJannek Station, Swiftbroom Academy, and Museum of Human Art.
- Extract tokens from the boxes using the Extraction Point.
- Insert tokens into the dispenser inside the Service Station to receive a random cosmetic.
Rarity Tiers and Box Colors in R.E.P.O.
There are over 500 unique cosmetic items available in the update. These cosmetics are initially found as boxes scattered across levels, with their rarity indicated by color:
- Green: Common
- Blue: Uncommon
- Purple: Rare
- Yellow: Legendary
The higher the rarity, the larger and heavier the box. While common boxes may appear in early levels, finding rarer boxes becomes significantly more likely as you progress through higher quotas.
How to Customize Your Semibot in R.E.P.O.
Customization begins immediately upon launching the game. You do not need to join a lobby to modify your semibot's appearance. The Main Menu displays the total number of new and unseen items next to the Customize option.
To customize your semibot:
- Open the Customize menu from the Main Menu before or after joining a game.
- Browse all collected items, organized by body part.
- Apply new paint jobs, randomize appearances using unlocked items, or save outfits as presets.
- Click on an item to equip it, then hit Confirm to finalize changes.
This streamlined process ensures your semibot reflects your unique style, whether you're preparing for a co-op lobby or simply enhancing your gameplay experience.
