The Houston Texans announced on Monday that they have signed running back Evan Hull to the roster. Hull was among the players who participated in the team’s rookie minicamp as a tryout candidate.

Hull, who is 25 years old, was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Over his career, he has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints, accumulating 49 rushing yards on 20 carries and 12 receiving yards on two receptions.

In a corresponding roster move, the Texans released tight end Luke Lachey to make room for Hull. Lachey, a seventh-round draft pick from the University of Iowa in 2025, spent the 2024 season on Houston’s practice squad. He is the son of former NFL offensive tackle Jim Lachey.
