Hyundai has officially unveiled the 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 9 AWD Performance Calligraphy Black Ink, a near-luxury electric SUV designed to elevate the brand’s flagship model. The vehicle was revealed during an event at Hyundai’s newly constructed Metaplant America near Savannah, Georgia.
The Calligraphy Black Ink trim represents Hyundai’s most sophisticated offering to date, blending formal elegance with cutting-edge technology. Production for this model is already underway at the Georgia facility, with dealer deliveries scheduled for this summer.
Design and Luxury Features
Hyundai describes the Black Ink edition as a refined, high-end interpretation of its design language. The exterior features Abyss Black Pearl paint paired with a suite of blacked-out elements, including:
- Black chrome front skid plate and rear garnish
- Gloss black roof rails
- Black window moldings and inner door handles
- Black Hyundai emblem
Inside, the cabin continues the monochromatic theme with a black interior colorway, seating upholstery pattern, aluminum trim, and a black steering wheel.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Performance
Hyundai equips the Ioniq 9 Calligraphy Black Ink with a range of premium features, including:
- 10-inch Head-Up Display
- 14-speaker Bose premium audio system
- Full Display Digital Rearview Mirror
- Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2)
- Panoramic roof
- Integrated front and rear dash cam
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality
- Multiple 100-watt-capable USB-C ports across all three rows
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by an 110.3-kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture, delivering 422 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive system ensures responsive performance, while the battery supports 350-kW ultra-fast DC charging. Hyundai states that the battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes under ideal conditions using NACS infrastructure.
