The Green Bay Packers and wide receiver Jayden Reed have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $50.25 million in new money, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. The deal includes $20 million guaranteed.
Reed, who turns 26 next week, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. Under that deal, he was scheduled to earn a $1.729 million base salary with a $2.285 million salary cap hit.
Draft History and Team Building
The Packers selected Reed in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. That same draft class included fifth-round pick Dontayvion Wicks. Other recent Packers draft picks include:
- 2022: Christian Watson (second round), Romeo Doubs (fourth round)
- 2023: Matthew Golden (first round), Savion Williams (third round)
With the extension, the Packers are now building their offense around Reed, Watson, Golden, and Williams, as Doubs and Wicks have departed the team this offseason.
2023 Season Performance
Reed played only seven games last season after suffering a broken collarbone in Week 2. In those games, he recorded 19 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown.
