Everything I've seen about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight feels too good to be true. The game combines the beloved LEGO art style, stellar voice acting, an expansive roster of Batman heroes and villains, open-world gameplay, the Batmobile, the Bat motorcycle, and much more. With its launch just weeks away, Warner Bros. has released a new trailer that only heightens the excitement.

The game appears to blend iconic moments and characters from various Batman projects, including The Dark Knight trilogy, Michael Keaton’s 1989 Batman, combat mechanics inspired by the Batman Arkham series, and even elements from the 90s films. The trailer’s standout feature, however, is its use of an unforgettable song from that era.

Why 'Kiss from a Rose' Elevates the Trailer

Seal’s Kiss from a Rose is featured prominently in the trailer, delivering an emotional and nostalgic punch. The song, originally released in 1994 and famously used in the 1995 film Batman Forever, has left a lasting impact on fans. While Batman Forever is often remembered for Val Kilmer’s portrayal of Batman, it also introduced Jim Carrey’s Riddler, Tommy Lee Jones’ Two-Face, and Chris O’Donnell’s Robin—characters that remain fan favorites.

"Kiss from a Rose" by Seal is used to excellent effect in the trailer, and it may have even got me feeling a little emotional. This iconic song used in the 1995 movie Batman Forever... feels like a taste of the awesome nostalgia trip that this game will be aiming to bring.

The song’s inclusion in the trailer is a masterstroke, instantly transporting fans back to the 90s. Its powerful chorus makes it impossible not to sing along, adding to the trailer’s high-energy appeal.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – What to Expect

I’ve played several LEGO games, including LEGO Batman, LEGO Marvel Heroes, and LEGO Star Wars, but none have fully hooked me due to their lack of online co-op. This time, however, the game’s potential feels different. While PC system requirements may be daunting, I’m opting to play on PS5 Pro for the best experience.
