Trump-endorsed Republican Representative Max Miller of Ohio has been accused of physically abusing his ex-wife, Emily Moreno—daughter of GOP Senator Bernie Moreno—over the course of several years. Miller has consistently denied these allegations.
Court filings obtained by the Daily Mail reveal that Emily Moreno is seeking to modify their custody arrangement due to Miller’s alleged “dangerous physical behavior,” including incidents witnessed by their 2-year-old daughter.
According to court documents, Moreno alleges that during a custody exchange in February 2025, Miller struck her, causing bruising to her arm and torso. Photos of the injuries were submitted as evidence. Moreno further claims that in 2024, Miller threw a pot of boiling water at her while their daughter was present.
In her testimony, Moreno stated that Miller “regularly speaks to me in an inappropriate, aggressive and demeaning manner, which is not in the best interest of our child.”
Miller and Moreno separated in 2024 and finalized their divorce in 2025.
History of Allegations Against Max Miller
This is not the first time Miller has faced accusations of domestic violence. In 2020, his former girlfriend and former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, 49, alleged that he pushed her against a wall and slapped her after she accused him of infidelity.
Miller’s Response and Allegations Against Others
Miller has framed the legal battle as a malicious campaign orchestrated by his ex-wife and her father, Senator Bernie Moreno. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on a Friday in May 2025, Miller wrote:
“It is unfortunate that @berniemoreno continues to fund and enable his daughter’s malicious campaign to ruin my life despite his knowledge of her mental health issues. Bernie, this must be distracting from your job. These antics harm your own grandchild. Anytime you want to put a stop to this, you can.”
Senator Bernie Moreno has not publicly responded to Miller’s allegations as of the time of reporting.
