Marathon’s 1.0.6.1 update has officially launched on live servers, focusing on bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements for players.
Major Changes to Item Economy and Looting
The most notable update is the expansion of stack limits for key consumables:
- Depleted Patch Kits and Depleted Shield Charges now stack up to 6, doubling the previous limit of 3.
- Standard rarity Sponsored Kits now include stacks of 6 instead of 3.
- Recruits now drop Depleted Patch Kits and Depleted Shield Charges at a significantly higher rate.
- Daily stock limits for Enhanced (green) and Deluxe (blue) Sponsored Kits in the Armory have been increased.
These changes benefit players who frequently use Sponsored Kits or play as Rook, allowing for more efficient inventory management and healing capabilities.
Combat and Weapon Fixes
Several adjustments have been made to improve weapon handling and combat mechanics:
- Toggle Zoom (for keyboard and mouse players) no longer retains ADS (aim down sights) state through actions like weapon swaps or reloads, preventing players from getting stuck in a state where medical consumables cannot be used.
- V85 Circuit Breaker has been fixed to ensure fully charged shots register hits correctly, resolving an issue where projectiles and impact VFX appeared but did not count as hits.
User Interface and Experience Improvements
The update addresses common UI frustrations with the following fixes:
- Improved accuracy of radial selections after quickly opening, making a selection, and closing the radial menu, reducing accidental frag grenade tosses.
- Fixed an issue where crewmates’ weapon styles failed to appear on their loadout display during the prepare screen.
Armory and Zone Fixes
Additional fixes target the Armory and in-game zones:
- Barter weapons now correctly display their barter cost on the weapon tile.
- In the Perimeter zone, the exfil countdown timer now accurately shows a full 10-second countdown instead of briefly flashing “0:00” and disappearing.
- In the Cryo Archive, an out-of-bounds exploit allowing Runners to refund gear after the run countdown has been patched.
General Quality-of-Life Adjustments
The update also includes broader improvements to address gameplay issues:
- The overflow inventory size has been increased to prevent item loss due to limited space.
