Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel remains a focal point of headlines as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches. The event kicks off Thursday night in Pittsburgh, and Vrabel is set to address the media from the team’s facility at approximately 7:20 p.m. ET. The draft itself begins at 8 p.m. ET.
On Wednesday night, Vrabel announced he would not attend the third and final day of the draft to focus on counseling. This decision follows the publication of photos showing Vrabel and reporter Dianna Russini—who resigned from The Athletic—at an Arizona resort. Both issued statements denying any inappropriate behavior, but Vrabel’s announcement and prior remarks about "difficult conversations with people that I care about" signaled a shift in the narrative.
Thursday saw the release of additional photos depicting Vrabel and Russini together in various locations over an extended period. The Patriots also issued a statement expressing support for Vrabel’s "commitment to being the best version of himself for his family, this team and our fans."
Vrabel’s pre-draft media appearance will further amplify a story that has dominated headlines ahead of one of the NFL’s most anticipated events.
