Netflix has issued an apology after a printing error on official merchandise for the Devil May Cry series mislabeled the name of the character Virgil.
The t-shirt in question, which was intended to feature Dante and Virgil, incorrectly spelled Virgil’s name as "Virgil" instead of the correct spelling, "Vergil".
Fans quickly noticed the mistake and took to social media to express their disappointment, leading to widespread discussion about the error. The misspelling has since been corrected, and Netflix has confirmed that the affected merchandise will be recalled.
In a statement, a Netflix representative said:
"We sincerely apologize for the error on our official Devil May Cry merchandise. The correct spelling of the character’s name is Vergil, and we are working to ensure all affected items are recalled and replaced."
This incident highlights the importance of accuracy in official merchandise, especially for beloved franchises like Devil May Cry, where fans hold deep attachments to the characters and lore.
