The New York Giants have further strengthened their defensive roster by claiming defensive tackle Zacch Pickens off waivers, according to the NFL's daily transaction wire. The move comes shortly after the team agreed to terms with defensive tackle D.J. Reader.

The Kansas City Chiefs released Pickens on Monday, clearing the way for the Giants to add his services. Pickens, 26, appeared in three games for the Chiefs last season, recording five total tackles.

Prior to his tenure with Kansas City, Pickens was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Over his first two seasons with the Bears, he appeared in 26 games, accumulating 44 total tackles. His career totals include two tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks.
