The New York Giants made a roster move on Sunday, parting ways with defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal after four seasons in the NFL.

Leal, who was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, had signed a futures contract with the Giants earlier in the offseason. His release came over the weekend, marking the end of his tenure with New York.

During his time with the Steelers, Leal appeared in 32 games, accumulating 35 tackles and one sack. His contributions on the defensive line were part of his professional journey before joining the Giants.

The Giants have been actively reshaping their roster, including drafting defensive tackle Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Additionally, the team signed free agents Sam Roberts and Marlon Tuipulotu to bolster their defensive line depth.

Other defensive linemen, including Roy Robertson-Harris, Darius Alexander, and Elijah Chatman, remain in the mix as the Giants continue to evaluate their roster ahead of the 2024 season.
