The New York Giants have officially added veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris to their roster, addressing a critical need on their defensive line. The agreement comes after the Giants traded defensive end Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this month, creating a void in their defensive front.

According to multiple reports, the Giants and Harris have finalized terms, though the official announcement is pending. Harris, a 2014 seventh-round draft pick, has played for four NFL teams over his seven-year career, including stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, and most recently, the Cleveland Browns.

In his last season with the Browns, Harris recorded 32 tackles and one sack across 17 games. His experience and versatility make him a valuable addition to the Giants' defensive unit, which already includes Bobby Jamison-Travis (drafted in the sixth round), Roy Robertson-Harris, Sam Roberts, Darius Alexander, and Elijah Chatman.

The Giants had previously indicated their intention to bolster the defensive line following the draft, and Harris appears to be the player they targeted. His arrival is expected to provide depth and competition at the defensive tackle position, helping to stabilize a unit that lost a key contributor in Lawrence.
