The New York Jets finalized three first-round draft selections, addressing critical roster needs through strategic trades. After selecting Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey with the second overall pick and Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq, the Jets executed a trade to re-enter the first round.

To secure the 30th overall selection, the Jets surrendered picks 33 and 179 to move up in the draft order. They used the 30th pick to select Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.

The addition of Cooper provides Geno Smith with a reliable No. 2 wideout to complement Garrett Wilson, strengthening the Jets' receiving corps. Cooper’s collegiate production includes 69 receptions, 937 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns during his final season at Indiana.

The San Francisco 49ers also participated in a first-round trade, moving from the 27th pick to 30th in a deal with the Miami Dolphins. This trade positions the 49ers to select at 33rd overall in the upcoming second round.
