Nintendo has officially announced a new Star Fox game for the Nintendo Switch 2, set to release on June 25, 2026. The title will draw inspiration from the beloved N64 entry in the series, blending its storyline, locations, and pacing with modern enhancements.

The game will feature updated character models, designs, and voice acting, ensuring a fresh yet familiar experience. Players can expect classic segments such as Arwing and Landmaster gameplay.

Cooperative play is a key highlight, allowing friends to team up—one as the pilot and the other as the gunner. The gunner can use mouse controls, though single players can also utilize them. Additionally, the game will support Joy-Con 2 mouse for enhanced precision.

For competitive multiplayer, the PVP Battle Mode will display players' chosen avatars in camera mode via GameChat, rather than their faces.

A dedicated Nintendo Direct showcased gameplay footage and detailed the game’s features, confirming its N64 roots while introducing modern refinements.

This announcement follows Fox McCloud's recent appearance in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, further solidifying the franchise’s presence in Nintendo’s lineup.
