Greg Brockman, President of OpenAI, testified in court this week that he was compelled to read aloud personal diary entries during a high-stakes trial. The proceedings center on allegations by Elon Musk that OpenAI abandoned its nonprofit mission in favor of enriching its leaders, including Brockman and former CEO Sam Altman.
"It's very painful," Brockman told OpenAI lawyer Sarah Eddy during his second day on the witness stand. While he acknowledged that he is not "ashamed" of the content of his journal entries, he emphasized their deeply personal nature.
The diary entries, Brockman explained, are not a straightforward record of his actions or emotions. Instead, they reflect a stream of consciousness, exploring alternate viewpoints in a meandering narrative.
