The New England Patriots have finalized a four-year rookie deal with fifth-round cornerback Karon Prunty, according to Christopher Price of the Boston Globe.

New England selected Prunty with the 171st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He previously visited the Patriots before the draft and impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he recorded a 4.45-second 40-yard dash.

Prunty played college football at Kansas, North Carolina A&T, and Wake Forest, where he started all 13 games in 2025. During that season, he tallied:

  • 40 tackles
  • 1 sack
  • 1 interception
  • 8 passes defensed
  • 1 forced fumble
  • 1 fumble recovery

He now joins a deep Patriots cornerbacks room that includes:
